This guide will help you get Amiga emulator FS-UAE up and running. FS-UAE offers a relatively easy setup process and is more user friendly that WinUAE thanks to it’s well designed GUI. Follow these simple steps to get FS-UAE set up with minimal fuss.

Step 1: Download the Emulator

  1. Download FS-UAE: Visit the FS-UAE website to download the emulator using the links above. Ensure you download both the emulator and the launcher.
  2. Create a Folder: Create a specific folder on your hard drive for the Amiga emulator (e.g., fsuae).
  3. Extract Files: Download and extract both the emulator and the launcher into this folder.

Step 2: Obtain Kickstart ROMs

  1. Kickstart ROMs: The Amiga system uses a BIOS called Kickstart. You’ll need a full range of these ROMs for emulation.
  2. Legal Purchase: You can legally purchase these ROMs from Amiga Forever. The Plus Edition is recommended as it includes all necessary ROMs and Workbench versions.
