Vita3K is a PlayStation Vita emulator designed to run commercial both homebrew games PS Vita games on various platforms, including Windows, Linux, MacOS & Android. Vita3K is still in active development, it offers support for a growing number of Vita titles.

This guide will walk you through the process of setting up Vita3K on Windows PC.
Prerequisites
Before we start, make sure you have:
- PlayStation Vita game files (recommended to convert them to .zip format for installation)
- A PC running Windows
- The Vita3K emulator files
- PlayStation Vita firmware and font package
Step 1: Prepare Your Game Files
- Convert Game Folders into Zip Files
If your game files are in folders, right-click on each folder, select Compress to Zip file or Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder. - Repeat the process for each game you want to install on Vita3K.
Step 2: Download Vita3K Emulator
- Visit the Vita3K Website
Go to the official Vita3K website here. - Check Game Compatibility
Before downloading the emulator, it’s recommended to check the compatibility list. Games are color-coded based on their status:- Green: Fully playable with no issues.
- Yellow: Playable but with minor issues.
- Download the Emulator
Go back to the home page and download the latest Windows Nightly Build.
Step 3: Extract and Set Up Vita3K
- Extract the Zip File
Once downloaded, right-click the Vita3K zip file and extract its contents. - Create a New Folder
Create a new folder on your desktop (or any preferred location) and name it something easy to remember, like Vita3K. - Move Emulator Files
Move all the extracted files into the new folder you created.
Step 4: Install Firmware and Font Packages
- Launch Vita3K
Double-click the Vita3K executable to start the emulator. You might see a Windows security warning—just click More info and select Run anyway. - Change Emulator Path
During setup, you’ll be asked to select the emulator path. Change it to the folder you just created (the Vita3K folder). - Download Firmware and Font Package
The emulator will prompt you to download the PlayStation Vita firmware and font package:- Click Download Firmware, which will open the official PlayStation firmware page.
- Download the file and bypass any browser security warnings.
- Do the same for the font package.
- Install the Firmware and Fonts
After downloading, navigate to your Downloads folder:- Select the PS Vita Firmware (
.pup
file) and install it in the emulator. - Repeat the process for the font package.

- Complete Setup
Continue following the prompts until setup is complete.
Step 5: Adding Games to Vita3K
- Place Game Zip Files in the Emulator Folder
Drag and drop your game.zip
files into the Vita3K folder. - Install Games
Inside the emulator:- Go to File → Install .zip/.VPK.
- Navigate to your Vita3K folder, select the game
.zip
file, and click Install. - Once the game is installed, you can choose to delete the archive.
- Repeat the Process
Repeat these steps for each game you want to install.
Step 6: Configuring Video and Performance Settings
- Open the Emulator
Launch Vita3K again if it’s not already open. - Go to Configuration Settings
- Navigate to Settings under the Configuration tab.
- Open the GPU tab and enable VSync to reduce screen tearing.
- Adjust Screen Resolution
In the GPU tab, increase the internal resolution if your PC can handle it. Start with 2x resolution for a balance between performance and visuals. If your system experiences lag, you can lower this setting. - Enhance Texture Quality
Enable Anisotropic Filtering to improve the texture clarity, particularly on 3D games.
Step 7: Customizing Game-Specific Settings (Optional)
- Right-Click on a Game
In the main emulator window, right-click on a game, and select Custom Config. - Adjust Video Settings
You can fine-tune resolution and graphics settings for each game, independent of the global settings.
Step 8: Playing Your Games
- Launch a Game
Double-click on a game from the list to start playing. You may notice some initial lag as the emulator builds shaders, but this should decrease after the first playthrough. - Controller Setup
Vita3K should automatically detect your Xbox or other game controllers, making them ready for use without further configuration.
Step 9: Additional Features
- Updating Compatibility Database
Vita3K may periodically ask you to update its compatibility database to ensure you have access to the latest playable games. - DLC Installation
If you want to install DLC, go to File → Install Package and select the appropriate DLC file.
